The Napa Valley Chamber Orchestra will present a free concert at Crosswalk Community Church, 2590 First St., Napa. Esteemed Bay Area conductor Ann Krinitsky leads the 21-member resident ensemble, with longtime Napa musician Beth Heid as the featured soloist performing Max Bruch’s Romance for viola and orchestra. The program also includes works by JS Bach, Ernest Bloch, Moritz Moszkowski, and George Walker.

UpStage Napa Valley presents the world premiere of Hold Out Hope by award-winning playwright Susan Lily Jackson at Grace Episcopal Church in St. Helena. The drama follows longtime sorority sisters reuniting at a Virgin River campground to reflect on their changing lives. Written specifically for UpStage, the play was inspired by Jackson’s experience with their 2023 Play Fest production of A Razing in Missouri.

Performances run Feb. 22 to March 9, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.. After each performance, actors and the director will hold an open discussion. For more information, email info@upstagenapavalley.org or juliemitchell262@comcast.net.

di Rosa presents Fiat Lux at di Rosa Downtown, a series of immersive performances by audio-visual artists using light, sound, and movement. On Friday, February 28, composer and video artist Sean Hallowell will perform at Artist’s Alley on First Street. Hallowell blends Medieval European vocal music with polyrhythmic electronic beats, accompanied by visuals generated through his custom-designed analog video synthesizers.

Fiat Lux continues with a performance by artist Joe Shoemaker on March 28.
